Chapter 551: Warning
Chapter 551: Warning
The moment Ethan stepped in, he saw a huge ancient hall, and tall pillars stood on both sides while each of them was carved with detailed runes that faintly glowed under the soft light.
The entire place carried a suffocating aura, and the moment he crossed the threshold, he felt something press down on him heavily, and it was not just pressure but something that directly affected his power.
His body stiffened and his senses dropped.
His strength… vanished.
For a split second, Ethan felt as if he had been thrown back to the time when he was nothing more than an ordinary human without any awakening.
His heart skipped a beat.A faint horror rose in his chest.
He tried to channel his power instinctively, but nothing responded, and it felt like everything inside him had gone silent.
"Don't worry. This is due to the law. Anyone outside the elf race coming here will face this."
The calm voice echoed through the hall.
Ethan paused and slowly lifted his head.
At the center of the hall, on a raised platform, a throne stood, and resting on it was a woman, sitting in a relaxed posture while holding a scepter loosely in her hand.
She was an elf.
Her long blonde hair flowed smoothly down her shoulders, and it shone softly under the light while her skin looked flawless and pale. Her figure was mature and well-shaped, and there was a natural elegance in the way she carried herself.
She wore a beautifully crafted dress that was decorated with jewels and fine lace, and the fabric flowed gracefully around her body while highlighting her presence.
At the edge of her waist, a golden coronet was crafted, and two letters were clearly engraved on it.
E.B.
Ethan's eyes widened slightly.
He recognized it instantly.
That dress. It was the same one he had designed and auctioned.
The one that was sold for fifty million gold coins.
"This…" Ethan muttered under his breath.
The Elf Queen looked at him and smiled faintly.
"How does it look?" she asked.
"I hope my appearance won't disappoint you."
Ethan blinked once, and then he quickly steadied himself while lowering his head slightly.
"Of course, how can they be," he murmured.
He took a step forward and gave a respectful bow.
"Pardon my words, but you look as gorgeous as an angel descending into the world," he said, and his tone remained polite.
After that, he straightened slightly and greeted her properly.
"Greetings, Queen of Elves, Lyria."
The queen raised her hand lightly.
"Be at ease," she said.
"I did not call you here to pressure you. I called you because I was interested in you."
Ethan remained silent and listened carefully.
"I have been curious about the human who crafted such a godly dress," she continued. "Also, I have heard that the man who crafted all this is someone personally sculpted by God."
She tilted her chin slightly and observed Ethan carefully.
Her eyes moved across him slowly.
White hair.
Blue, sharp eyes.
A defined masculine face.
A tall and balanced figure that carried both strength and a refined look and most importantly,he was Divine Knight.
And still so young.A faint flicker of surprise passed through her eyes. This was not ordinary.
This was something rare.
Something people would fight over.
"Now that I have seen you, I can say that the rumors about you do not do justice," she said calmly.
Ethan did not know what to say at that moment, and he felt both surprised and slightly uneasy, but there was also a hint of satisfaction in being acknowledged like this.
"I did not know that rumors about me even reached here," he said. "I hope this did not spoil your ears."
The queen gave a soft smile.
"How can it?" she replied.
"With such a look, how can a woman who loves beauty let go of the chance to admire such an appearance?"
Her tone was calm, but her words were direct.
She leaned slightly back on her throne and looked at him with interest.
"In fact," she added, "I am even prepared to take you as my Prince Consort if you are willing."
The words fell simply.
But they carried weight.
And for a moment the entire hall felt even quieter.
The hall remained quiet for a moment after the queen's words, and the weight of what she had just said did not fade easily.
Ethan stood there, and although his expression remained composed, his mind was not calm, and he took a slow breath before speaking.
"…Your Majesty," he said, and his tone was respectful but firm, "I am honored by your offer, but I have to refuse."
There was no hesitation in his voice.
Queen Lyria watched him for a few seconds, and her eyes studied him carefully as if she was measuring his resolve.
"You are refusing without even considering?" she asked, and her tone remained calm.
Ethan shook his head slightly.
"I have responsibilities," he said. "And there are people waiting for me, so I cannot leave everything behind."
His answer was simple, and there was no attempt to soften it.
The queen leaned back slightly, and then she let out a faint breath before shaking her head slowly.
"…I see," she said.
There was no anger in her expression, but there was something else, and it felt like quiet understanding.
Then her gaze sharpened slightly.
"Your days in Arcadia won't be good once you return," she said.
Ethan's brows furrowed immediately as he heard that.
"…What do you mean?" he asked.
Queen Lyria did not answer directly, and instead she gave a faint, mysterious smile while her fingers lightly tapped the armrest of her throne.
"Humans are interesting," she said slowly. "Especially when power, fear, and blame mix together."
Ethan's eyes narrowed slightly, and he felt a faint uneasiness rise again.
"Is this about the war?" he asked.
The queen did not confirm it, but she did not deny it either.
"Just be careful," she said.
"That is all I will say."
